Pray with Us

Our primary need is prayer, so we invite you to pray for and with us as we carry out the Great Commission.

2026 PRAYER MARKER

  1. THANKSGIVING. “I will give thanks to you, LORD, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds.” — Psalm 9:1 (NIV). God remains our reason for being. Because He is always working ( John 5:17), we work also; sending His message of redemption to the unreached and unengaged. The Lord has always been with COF and 2026 marks our 52nd year in existence as a missionary organization. Let’s thank Him for His goodness, mercy, and faithfulness.

  2. THE NATION GHANA. “What joy for the nation whose God is the LORD, whose people he has chosen as his inheritance.” — Psalm 33:12 (NLT). Let us lift Ghana into God’s hands and declare that He is Lord over this land. Pray that God will preserve Ghana’s peace and unity and that her citizens will be God fearing.

  3. PRECIOUS COF PARTNERS. Our partners remain great tools in God’s hands in propelling the ministry of COF. Pray that He will bless their homes, work, and ministries abundantly – For God is the one who provides seed for the farmer and then bread to eat. In the same way, he will provide and increase your resources and then produce a great harvest of generosity in you. 2 Corinthians 9:10 (NLT).

  4. COF MISSIONARIES. “How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news…” — Isaiah 52:7a (NIV). COF missionaries continue to serve among the unreached communities in Ghana’s North. Whereas their work has borne great fruit in the salvation of many people it is not without challenges e.g. persecution, rejection, inadequate logistics etc. Pray for God’s provision, protection, boldness, and wisdom for all our missionaries.

  5. THE COF BOARD. “Without wise leadership, a nation falls; there is safety in having many advisers.” — Proverbs 11:14 (NLT). Pray for the COF Board that God will grant them divine wisdom and clarity in decision-making. Pray that their decisions will continually align with God’s will. Pray also for Lawyer Michael Akanbek, the new Board Chairman of COF for wisdom and grace in his new role. Also pray God’s blessings for Mr. William Apraku Bondzie, the immediate-past Chairman of COF, for the many years he served as the Board Chairman of COF.

  6. COF EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR – MRS. JUSTINA YESUTOR GUMENU. Mrs. Justina Yesutor Gumenu is the new Executive Director of COF. She succeeds Mr. Emmanuel Anukun- Dabson who served COF meritoriously for 37 years and retired in May, 2025. Pray for God’s guidance, wisdom and favor for Yesutor as she takes up the responsibility of leading the ministry of COF. Also pray for Emmanuel that God will grant him good health and longevity in retirement.

  7. THE COF OFFICE STAFF. “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters..” – Colossians 3:23 (NIV). The COF office staff continue to offer the needed administrative and mobilization support so that the ministry is run efficiently and effectively. Pray and thank God for Mrs. Grace Akpene Laryea, the Administrator/ Accountant; Ms. Christabel Tagoe, the Communication and Partnership Development Officer; and Mr. Samuel Osei Antwi, the Driver/Expediter. Pray for diligence, unity, and excellence among the staff. Ask God to strengthen them spiritually and professionally that their teamwork will bring progress to the ministry.

  8. THE 2026 MINISTRY YEAR. COF is resolute to continue reaching the unreached with the Gospel in 2026 and beyond. We are believing God and putting in the effort to raise three new missionaries to the unreached; plant at least 20 new churches and fellowships; furnish the mission fields with the required logistics; build a cafeteria for the Mission Center, among other things. Our ministry budget for 2026 is Four Million, Four Hundred Thousand, Four Hundred and Fifty-Two Ghana Cedis (4,400,452.00). Please pray for God’s provision to be able to achieve our ministry goals for 2026.

  9. COF MINISTRY PROJECTS. “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.” — Proverbs 16:3 (NIV). As part of our efforts to reach out holistically with both the gospel and good deeds, COF has instituted the following projects: the William Ofori Atta Memorial School in Dama-Nkwanta; the Shalom Academy in Buipe; the Hope Academy in Gushiegu, the Kwalwogo Community School in Binaba, Micro-finance assistance to women and the Nabuli Camp for women accused of witchcraft in Nabuli, among others. Additionally, our Animal Husbandry Project provides vital support for our missionaries and their families. Pray that God will provide the resources, strategic partnerships, and favor needed for the continuation of these projects.

  10. GRASSROOTS TRAINING. “If the axe is dull and its edge unsharpened, more strength is needed, but skill will bring success.”Ecclesiastes 10:10 (NIV). Training forms a core part of what we do as a ministry. Let us pray for the success of COF’s grassroots training programs and for the necessary funding and other resources needed in equipping the mission fields.

  11. AUDIO BIBLES. The distribution of Audio Bibles among the predominantly oral communities we serve continues to bear outstanding fruit—not only in leading many to Christ but also in discipling them through the pure Word of God. Let us pray for TRC and its generous partners, whose support has made this impactful ministry possible. Pray that the Audio Bibles will continue reaching people in remote and unreached areas. Pray for God to provide the necessary technology and translations needed to reach more people. Ask God to open hearts as His Word is heard.

  12. FULFULDE (FULANI) OUTREACH. We give glory to God for all He is doing through the ministry efforts of Missionary Issah Gyani and his wife, Fati Gyani, among the Fulani people in Ghana’s Savannah Region. The couple continues to actively engage the Fulfulde community through one-on-one evangelism, school outreach, and the Fulfulde radio broadcast which continues to reach many with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Pray for open doors and receptive hearts among the Fulani people.

  13. PRAYER AGAINST THE ISLAMIZATION OF GHANA. “No weapon forged against [Ghana] will prevail…” — Isaiah 54:17a (NIV). We stand in spiritual vigilance against every agenda that seeks to silence the Gospel in Ghana. Ask God to protect the Christian heritage of this nation and strengthen the church with unity and boldness. Also pray that believers will stand firm in the faith and be the salt and light they were made to be.

  14. THE KOKOMBA & KOMBA PEOPLE GROUPS. The following missionaries and their wives continue to faithfully minister to the Kokomba and Komba communities in the Northern and Brong Ahafo Regions: Charles Makate, Caleb Masala, and Joseph Wahab Zuniru. Timothy and Jacob Nmayi are also part of the Kokomba/Komba outreach. Pray that God’s Word will transform these communities. Ask for spiritual breakthroughs and openness to the Gospel. Pray for strong indigenous believers to rise.

  15. THE MAMPRUSI, BIRIFO & LOBI PEOPLE GROUPS. Let us lift up in prayer for Obed Iddrissu and Martin Tiereh, as they minister to the Birifo and Lobi communities. Pray for open hearts in these communities as they preach the Gospel. Pray that more churches will be established and strengthened.

  16. THE SALVATION OF THE WORLD. Data from the Joshua Project and Global Frontier Missions shows that about 3 billion people in the world today have little to no access to the Gospel. These people are referred to as the unreached. Let us intercede for the nations, asking for the light of the Gospel to permeate every dark heart and place. Also pray to the Lord of the Harvest to send laborers into the harvest field and open doors for the gospel in unreached places. Pray that multitudes will come to faith in Christ Jesus across the world.

  17. PARTNER CHURCHES. We are grateful for the support that COF ministry receives from various churches like the Korle Bu Community Chapel (KBCC); The Church of Pentecost (HQ); International Central Gospel Church (ICGC-Christ Temple); ICGC Shalom Temple; Legon Interdenominational Church (LIC); University Interdenominational Church (UIC) – Cape Coast; Living Springs Assemblies of God, Legon; Liberty Assemblies of God; among others. Pray that these partner churches will be blessed holistically even as they continue to support missions.

  18. THE DAGOMBA PEOPLE GROUP. Gushiegu and Savelugu are our oldest Dagomba mission fields led by Elisha & Ernestina Adam and Emmanuel & Sanatu Gurindow, respectively. In addition, the following missionaries and their wives are laboring in the new Dagomba fields: Noah Mumuni, Zachaeus Abdulai, Mark Tahidu, Peter Abdulai, Iddi Dramani, Emmanuel Issa, Addae Sayibu Napari, Zachariah Mahama, Sulemana Issifu, Jacob Mumuni, John Adam, and Abukari Tahidu. Pray for evangelistic impact among the Dagomba. Ask God to break every spiritual resistance. Pray for many to encounter Christ through His Word.

  19. UPPER EAST & UPPER WEST PEOPLE GROUPS. Frafra people group in Bolgatanga: Hilliah Albright and his wife. Kusasi Outreach: Kofi Samson and Francis Anyindana Assibi and their wives are serving in the Binaba area. Kasena Outreach: Felix Ane-Kwaradam and his wife are serving in Navrongo and its surroundings. Builsa Outreach: Joseph Baba and his wife are serving in the Fumbisi area. Upper West: Samuel Saakpa, Abraham Bozie, and Andrews Nowiihi, along with their wives, are preaching the Gospel to the Dagaaba and Wala people in the Upper West Region. Pray for strength, resources, and fruitful ministry in these regions. Ask God to strengthen these missionaries and use them as vessels of restoration and transformation. Pray for revival fire to spread across the North.

  20. MISSIONARY WIVES. The wives of our missionaries have been called to stand beside their husbands in doing ministry among the unreached and unengaged. Their support is undeniable yet they are the ones easily overlooked and often disempowered by negative cultural expectations and practices. Let us pray for the missionary wives of COF to fulfill their God destiny as His image bearers in their respective occupations, homes, church and society at large.

  21. THE YOUNGER GENERATION. The younger generation undoubtedly represent the future in every sense of the word. From the mission fields, to boardrooms to the society at large, their presence holds promise for the future. But the future they create is primarily based on the decisions they make and the kind of influence they are exposed to. Let us pray for our children to choose godliness over worldliness and make a difference in their world to the glory of God.

  22. THE CHURCH IN AFRICA. Africa is set to be the global center of Christianity for the next 50 years. With its teeming number of young people, Christianity in Africa is set to grow numerically in the coming years. Africa has moved from being a missionary receiving to a missionary sending continent; sending the Gospel to Europe and the Americas among others. Let us pray for the Church in Africa to be rooted in sound theology and for African Christians to model Christlike character in business, politics, social justice, environmental stewardship etc. Let us also pray for strength and rescue for the persecuted church in Africa especially in Nigeria, Burkina Faso and other countries.

  23. CHURCH IN THE WEST. “…Wake up, sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.” – Ephesians 5:14 (NIV). Western missionaries came to Africa and labored to bring the light of the Gospel to the then “dark continent”. Today, Africa has over 600 million followers of Christ according to the Pew Research Center. Conversely, Europe and America have experienced significant spiritual decline. Pray for revival and renewed spiritual strength in the Western Church. Pray for God to break the chains of complacency and awaken a new generation of western Christians who serve Him with boldness. Ask God to restore passion for missions and godliness.

  24. THE GHANAIAN CHURCH. Let us lift prayers for the Churches in Ghana to walk in holiness, unity, and moral authority. Pray that the Ghanaian Church will stand firm in truth, mission centeredness and right living that will permeate every fabric of society.

  25. THE UNREACHED IN GHANA. Out of the 19 unreached people groups in Ghana, 11 of them are indigenous namely: the Anufo, Banda-Ligbi, Challa, Chakali, Kamara, Kantosi, Kotokoli, Mamprusi, Wala, Nanumba and Gonja people groups. They are considered unreached because the followers of Christ within these people groups are very few (less than 2% of their population is Christian) and they need help in evangelizing their own. Let us pray that the missionary/evangelistic efforts among these unreached people groups will yield a great harvest of souls.

  26. OTHER PARA-CHURCH ORGANIZATIONS. Let us pray for these organizations dedicated to Christian literacy work in Ghana, e.g. the Bible Society of Ghana, Ghana Institute of Linguistics, Literacy and Bible Translation (GILLBT). Also pray for campus ministries such as Scripture Union (SU), Youth for Christ, GHAFES, Campus Crusade, Excellent Youth Outreach (EYO), etc. The following sister ministries need our prayers for good leadership and lasting impact: Samaritan Strategy, TheoVision, OneWay Africa, Salt and Light Ministries, Torchbearers, Pioneers, Living Bread Mission, Siloam, Full Stature, SIM, WEC, Meaningful Life, Faith Comes By Hearing (FCBH) etc. Pray also for Para-Church partners like Markaz al-Bishara, Challenge Enterprise, etc. Pray for increased impact across these ministries. Ask God to provide workers, resources, and open more doors. Pray that many will come to know Christ through their efforts.

  27. ECUMENICAL BODIES & CHRISTIAN MEDIA. Pray for unity and boldness for the following ecumenical bodies: the Ghana Evangelical Missions Association (GEMA); Ghana Evangelism Committee (GEC); Christian Council of Ghana (CCG); Ghana Pentecostal & Charismatic Council (GPCC), etc. Pray also for effective witness for the following Christian Media organizations: Sunny FM, Spring FM, Sweet Melodies FM, Bishara Radio, The Watchman, Step Magazine, the Christian Messenger etc.

  28. THE WILLIAM OFORI ATTA HERITAGE (WOAH). The main vision of the Heritage is to nurture Christian men and women of integrity who exemplify their faith in daily life, particularly in the marketplace. Pray that WOAH will continue inspiring generations toward missions and righteousness. Ask God to preserve its legacy and relevance. Pray for wisdom for those overseeing its activities.

  29. THE PERSECUTED CHURCH. “Remember those in prison, as if you were there yourself…” — Hebrews 13:3a (NLT). Pray for strength, encouragement, and protection for persecuted believers. Ask God to strengthen them with courage, comfort, supernatural peace in their families and communities. Pray that their testimonies will draw many to Christ.

  30. THE COMING MONTH. “The Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.” — Psalm 121:8 (NIV). Pray and dedicate the coming month to God’s care. Pray for direction, provision, and open doors for COF and your families alike. Ask for God’s presence to go ahead in all plans and activities. May we walk in wisdom and bear fruit in every area of life.

  31. APPRECIATE GOD. “Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever.” — Psalm 107:1 (NLT). Let us take a moment to adore God for His goodness, kindness, and love. Thank Him for everything He has done for COF, partners, and your families. Pray that a heart of gratitude will continually guide all we do.
